Whenever I'm back from college, I make sure to go on at least one decent road trip with friends. This time we decided to try Terwilliger (Cougar) Hot Springs in central Oregon. After waking up early and a three hour drive, we were met with a "Road Closed" sign about 4 miles from the trailhead. We hesitantly decided to hike from there. Although our legs were sore from the walking, the steamy springs definitely made it worth it. Of course, a day in Oregon is not complete without pancakes at Vintage Inn.

On thanksgiving weekend, I decided to bring two of my great friends out to Umpqua Hot Springs in Southern Oregon. It's a spot I've alway wanted to visit and it was great sharing the experience with people like Megan and Leo. Umpqua Hot Springs is a completely natural spring and is comprised of 8 or 9 individual pools stretched along a steep hill. The North Umpqua river runs along the bottom. After getting a private pool a little ways down the hill, we were informed the upper pools were much warmer so we joined a few naked strangers and wet dogs for a pleasant soak.

I love documenting people who I enjoy spending time with. On this evening, we decided to catch one of the best sunsets I've ever seen at Discovery Park Bluff. Having loaded a roll of HP5 the day prior, I was rendered helpless when I saw the stunning pinks and oranges of the sky. Should've brought some Ektar but oh well. I used it as an opportunity to simply focus on enjoying the night with my friends while photographing them along the way.
